Focus TV
Planning, delivery and installation of an AV and IT networked production environment for Focus TV
Following a structured analysis of the existing workflows, new workflows were drawn up in collaboration with Focus's production managers. Wellen+Nöthen then developed the ingest, video selection, post-production, studio production and central technology production areas, which are adapted perfectly to the Focus TV team’s workflow.
At the heart of the IT installation is an AVID Unity system. In a newly-created central ingest and dispatcher room, the audio/video ingest AVID Air Speed and Media Composer are used. Workgroup editing takes place via Media Composer Adrenaline and News Cutter XP systems, as well as the direct link-up of the Focus graphics stations to the Unity servers. All journalists also have direct access at their workstations to online material, thanks to the software Media Select and can therefore select and adopt scenes for an initial editing list ahead of the editing process.
