DSNG SWR
Compact DSNG vehicle for Südwestrundfunk
To extend its mobile production units, we project-managed and implemented the conversion of a new DSNG vehicle for Südwestrundfunk (SWR). The vehicle, which is based on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter, uses an uplink system from easyLINK. The orientation and configuration of the transfer path between the DSNG and the satellite is undertaken by the service provider SATCOM, remote-controlled via GSM.
A 150 cm unit from Swedish with a 400W HPA amplifier is used as the antenna system. The vehicle is equipped with two Thomson Grass Valley camera production units of type LDK 400 for recording, one of which features innovative wireless technology. The video and audio technology has been kept compact to make the best possible use of the space available: consequently, the technology comprises a Network cross-rail and a video-mixer from Brickhouse. Monitoring is via LC displays from Marshall. A Yamaha DM 1000 is used as the audio mixer. An Apple Final Cut NLE system has been integrated for the editing of playback material. In order to be able to work independently of an external power supply, the vehicle has also been fitted with its own Panda generator for its power supply and an UPS system.
