QVC HD Trailer

For the purposes of outside and studio productions a trailer with a lateral extension unit was constructed and furnished with HD technology equipment or HD upgradeable equipment. In order to be able to react flexibly to the requirements of different production circumstances, a tail lift as well as a space for further equipment was included in addition to the ND Satcom HD uplink also at the rear of the vehicle. In this way smaller productions can be catered for without having to resort to the large equipment truck. A 30 KW Panda power generator mounted in
the towing vehicle provides an independent power supply which can be used as required.

In answer to special customer requirements 4 workspaces in the extension unit together a wide range of PC and data processing equipment were installed in the vehicle. In addition, the following workspaces were provided: audio control room with a Soundtracs digital console and Genelec 5.1 monitoring, video control supervision and image processing with an SD/HD video mixer MVS-8000, Grass Valley image and sound crossbars from the Concerto series, a central engineering unit with an Omneon server system and VTRs using the IMX standard.

Partly for reasons of space the video control supervision monitors used are 2 x 47” Barco LCD displays with multiviewers supplied by Everts and Miranda.
